Meet Our Pastor

Pastor B.R. Booth, M. Div., a native of Gautier, MS, is the youngest of three, born to (the late) Billy and Lorean (Johnson) Booth.  He is a graduate of Alcorn State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he obtained his B. S. and M. S. in Biochemistry, respectively.  In 2007, he graduated from the Morehouse School of Religion – ITC, where he received his Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Christian Education. 

 

Rev. Booth preached his initial public sermon at his home church, the New Era Missionary Baptist Church, in Gautier, MS, May 2002 under the pastorate of the Rev. Dr. H. L. Davis.  He was ordained for the Gospel Ministry December 2003.  Since that time, God has used Rev. Booth to preach and to teach across a number of states. 

 

In 2012, Rev. Booth united with the Union Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS, under the leadership of Rev. Larry G. Hawkins, Sr., and serves there as youth minister and as one of the young adult ministry team leaders.  Furthermore, he has served as the Executive Director for the Youth Department of the Gulf Coast M. Baptist District Association and on the Young People’s Educational Board of the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, Inc.

 

Active in the community, Pastor Booth has served on several local and state boards, and has been awarded numerous awards and honors.  He is a graduate from the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi and a graduate of the Leadership Jackson County Program.  Currently, he is the treasurer of the Dominique J. Henshaw Memorial Scholarship Fund, LLC; a member of the SCLC of Jackson County; a member of the Jackson County Literacy Council and a member of the Board for the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County.  In addition, he is the assistant vice-president of First Federal Savings and Loan of Pascagoula-Moss Point.

 

On February 9, 2018, Rev. Booth was called by the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Gulfport, MS to become their fifth pastor in the history of the church.  He was installed on Sunday, June 3, 2018.  Since that time, Pastor Booth has given leadership to the church and her ministries in serving the community.  The current ministries have been strengthened, and two ministries have been added: the youth drill team ministry and the brotherhood ministry.

 

Pastor Booth is married to LaShundra Finley-Booth, and they have two children, Haley Renee and Olivia Nicole.  Rev. Booth loves God and shows this in the exercising of his gifts and in the way he treats his neighbors.  He lives by the motto: “Only what you do for Christ will last.”
